Language Matters: Proud to Contribute to DvojBa

As professionals working in the translation field every day, we are constantly reminded that language is not static, it evolves, adapts, and reflects the way we communicate in a changing world.

That is why we are particularly proud that we had the opportunity to participate in the project “Database of Croatian Morphological Doublets (DvojBa)”, led by a renowned Croatian linguist, Tomislava Bošnjak Botica, PhD at the Institute for the Croatian Language.

This project addresses an important aspect of the Croatian language: morphological doublets, forms that coexist in usage and often raise questions about standardization, preference, and context. For those of us working in translation and localization, these nuances are not theoretical, they are part of our daily decision-making.Contributing to DvojBa has been a valuable experience. It reinforces the importance of systematizing linguistic knowledge, supporting consistency, and providing reliable resources not only for linguists, but also for professionals who work with language in practice.

At Verbosari, we strongly believe that quality translation is built on a deep understanding of language, its rules, its variations, and its development. Supporting projects like this is part of our commitment to the profession and to the Croatian language itself.
